Automated decision transparency: prepare for 10 December 2026
Covered APP entities should map automated decisions and privacy disclosures before the December commencement.
The conditions concern personal information used in computer-made or substantially directly assisted decisions reasonably expected to significantly affect an individual’s rights or interests. Relevant privacy policies must describe the kinds of personal information and decisions involved.
Readiness record: entity coverage; personal-information categories; automation role; decision categories and significant effects; privacy-policy update status; accountable owner and target date. Document human review and challenge routes as operational safeguards, without implying that this disclosure amendment itself creates a universal appeal right. Updated 26 October 2026; commencement remains upcoming.
