Copyright law: check AI training, uploads and published outputs
Copyright law: check AI training, uploads and published outputs. Existing law in force. Check coverage for each AI use case.
Uploading material, building a retrieval collection, training a model and publishing an output are different activities. Each needs a rights assessment. Public availability and an AI-generated label do not establish permission to reproduce protected material.
Use-case investigation: record source ownership, licences, authorised uses, supplier terms, output review and attribution arrangements. Retain permissions or the documented exception analysis. Do not promise that every AI output attracts copyright protection or that every upload infringes: the facts and applicable legal tests determine the result.
